"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!

I've enjoyed browsing deviantArt for a long time... since at least 2003, when a friend of mine told me to look at his profile here. I've had an account for a while, but never did anything with it. I was active at another website for several years, but decided that the patronage was either too old (in spirit, anyway) or too uninteresting... so now I'm here. So far, loving it. I am really looking forward to getting some new art done this week so I can throw it on here and see what happens.
Definitely! Personally, I love painting still lifes more than anything. I'm HORRIBLE at portraits and I cannot grasp the idea of a landscape. Nor do I live by any cool mountains or anything anyway. (: And while oranges and apples are always great, it's cute to see the other things you painted as well! I love your technique and please continue to do more!
Landscapes are difficult for me, as well. I give them the odd try every now and then, but they just wind up looking flat. But seriously, thanks for all that feedback. I hope I keep coming up with things you like.
